Upsizing from a small apartment to a large home at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast has gifted this family the opportunity to completely overhaul their interior style, with help from interior designers, Palm Interiors.
Already familiar with the work of designers Kylie Mann and Nyria King, the couple knew their shared style and taste would translate well into the chic, sophisticated family living they aspired to, with carefully curated furniture and furnishing designs to suit their new home and growing family.
“The home was a brand new architect-designed home with a wonderful appeal and it offered a fantastic blank canvas for us to work with and furnish,” adds Kylie. “The high level of finishes chosen for the kitchen and bathrooms were very compatible with the glamorous furnishings that we had selected, too.”
“Aisling shared her Pinterest account with us, where she had been collecting images of interiors and furniture that she liked. This helped communicate what style and colours they were drawn to, and it was immediately obvious that Hollywood Regency was the most common style that they liked,” explains Kylie of the design direction. “We aimed to select furniture and furnishings to suit this style while still making their home liveable with such young children.”
The couple had converted the large guest bedroom into a playroom for their two little girls, Robyn, three, and Charlotte, six months, giving them a beautiful space to play and keep their toys. This also allowed the designers to adhere to a much more sophisticated ‘grown-up’ look for the main living and dining area.

Back outside, and the clients had requested an outdoor swing be incorporated with the existing outdoor structure, so Palm Interiors selected a wonderful piece, fit for the job of play and doing double-duty as a visually striking piece. “We were able to source from an imported range of outdoor furniture which included a fabulous swing, creating a wonderful space for the family to live and entertain,” says Kylie.
The talented design duo from Palm Interiors are both really happy with how this home has come together. “While it’s always difficult to pick a favourite space of a finished project, we both feel that the living and dining area, and that all-important outdoor zone is a resounding success,” says Kylie. “And the beautiful master bedroom is such a wonderful retreat, the perfect fit for these stylish parents.”
