This year, six local Queensland projects have been shortlisted in the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards, one of the country’s most respected design programs. Celebrating the best in residential, commercial and public interiors, the awards offer a glimpse into the spaces shaping modern Australian life—and Queensland is firmly part of that conversation.

From the refined, collaborative approach of HGA Studio and Ellison Studios on Finca Talluca, to the more playful, expressive tone of Maytree Studios’ Fairytale House, these projects reflect the breadth of design thinking happening locally right now.

Gold Coast-based architectural studio ME’s Dolphin Court House and Renegade Design Studio’s Lake House round out the shortlist—homes that speak to a distinctly Queensland way of living. In the Residential Decoration category, two Queensland interiors have also been recognised, showcasing the power of thoughtful layering and personal expression.
Alicia Holgar Interiors’ Roseville brings a sense of warmth and texture, while Louise Walsh Interior Design’s Palmera in Noosa captures that relaxed, sun-washed sophistication so often associated with coastal Queensland living.
These interiors feel calm, grounded, and quietly luxurious—spaces that invite you in and make you want to stay a little longer.
