The ABA studio draws on traditional methods to deliver creative, practical and bespoke residential designs, and they’ve certainly delivered just that in their own studio and work space.
The ABA Woolstore studio celebrates the building’s industrial past, creatively positioning itself as a contemporary work place within a historic building shell, with exposed brick walls purposefully retained to provide the studio’s distinctive backdrop.
The interiors were designed by Brisbane architects from Alexandra Buchanan Architecture, Alexandra Buchanan, and Shane Willmett, who worked around a floor plan that subtly distinguishes work and meeting zones through colour blocking, reinforced by a diaphanous fabric curtain.

Cerulean hues promote creative discussion around the custom oak office table (designed and built by ABA), while in the studio proper, work stations are arranged to foster idea-bouncing and ease of conversation amongst team members. Overhead, the textile installation, Clouds by Kvadrat, adds texture and a visual play befitting such a creative space.
Other uber stylish and luxe interior delights in the studio space include an Eames House Bird by Vitra (find it at Space Furniture), the Niche centrepiece with interposable elements by Zaha Hadid for Alessi, Healey Lounge chair by Walter Knoll (available through Living Edge), Dalù Lamps from Artemide, and a House Aroma Diffuser by 11+.
